With over 35 years of international activity and more than two million albums sold, Paradise Lost quickly became noted as the pioneers of gothic metal through their early groundbreaking albums.
From sludgy doom-death roots to conquering the metal mainstream with the enormous, lush sounds of 1995’s 'Draconian Times', and now to 2025 where the Yorkshire quintet return with their staggering 17th album, ‘Ascension’, Paradise Lost have never remained creatively static; each phase of their career has expanded the parameters of dark music while retaining the sound that defines their identity.
