Paradise Lost
Artist enquiry
Since their formation in 1988, Paradise Lost have maintained a consistent and enduring career. With over two million albums sold and seventeen studio releases to date, they remain undisputed kings of metal’s dark side.
Throughout their career, Paradise Lost have consistently evolved their sound, their catalogue spans more than three decades of artistic evolution. Moving from their early doom-death foundations through the expansive, mainstream-reaching weight of 1995’s 'Draconian Times', and into more experimental and electronic leanings. This willingness and ability to adapt has cemented their influence across generations of heavy artists, including acts as diverse as Cradle Of Filth, HIM, Gatecreeper and Chelsea Wolfe.
Their 2025 album 'Ascension' continues this trajectory. Produced by Gregor Mackintosh, the album demonstrates the band’s conscious refinement of their craft after 35 years. ‘Ascension’ masterfully shows the breadth of what Paradise Lost have done and can do, in a manner that still no other band can make work quite the same.
“After 35 years, everything is conscious,” says Nick Holmes. “It's difficult not to be 100% sure of where everything is coming from having such a vast varied back catalogue, but ultimately it simply comes down to if we like the music we are creating or not. If we do, it stays! That hasn't changed since we were teenagers.”
Northern Music Company oversees the band’s long-term career strategy, coordinating recording cycles, label partnerships, touring alignment and commercial development to ensure sustained international activity.
